Speaking In Tongues
Scribbling In Voices

A PARTY

25 JULY

ONCE

A STEP TOWARDS

A PARTY

Inaccurately sliding glances. Silk dances
Behind.
Excitement in a glossy cover. A lover
ls blind.
So vulnerably pale a forehead
Before it
Starts aching.
A balance of a stupid living, like giving
And taking...

25 JULY

I like to watch them shout and push and run.
My mystery, my unpronounced sentence...
Boys, playing football, hot under the sun,
Their young rough voices hurt like late repentance.

As if you're one of them, so bright and sweet,
Born to the land where hearts and blades are planted,
Not knowing of betrayal or defeat.
Fake my embarassed tenderness for granted.

No need in explanations. Joy will stay.
While sadness is a guest just for a minute.
Life is a cunning game: the more you play,
The more you lose and yet, the more you win it.

ONCE

When I grope in the dark searching for a switch
Or try on this life like a winter coat
Or push a sacrifice down the throat
Of a cool midnight, I am a witch.

I let time lick my blood like a hungry beast
Wrapped in the torn sheets of passing minutes.
I have heard its whispered confessions, I've seen its
Faults and sins through the eye of a priest.

Once I'll learn to forget all my old-fashioned pains
And accept every day as my favourite teacher,
I will keep this wild and irrational creature
That is born in the spiderweb blues of my veins

On a leash, on a chain.
I'll be sober and sane.
For some time... In some life... Once again...

A STEP TOWARDS

I blessed the silence of a snail
Behind a thick aquarium glass,
A towel on a crooked nail,
A cat with eyes as green as grass

I wasn't lonely but alone.
A sleepy watch froze on my wrist.
And even ringing of a phone
Was not allowed to insist.

That little uneventful play
With no script and no stage
Was my salvation and my cage,
And somewhere, so far away

Horizons fumed with early dawns
And falling leaves rinsed in the cold
Rains dancing on the autumn lawns,
Rains splashing out gold,

Rains making love to earth,
Rains penetrating to the core...
My shaky peace: it wasn't worth
A step towards the closed door.
